Chambers Bay

The view from the ninth tee at Chambers Bay is surely one of the best on any course in the State, if not the country. The green sits nearly 100 feet below, and the blue-grey waters of Puget Sound almost reach the horizon to the west. Best of all, though, the dune-lined half-pipe of the par-4 10th lies between them. Hit a good drive away up the left half and you have an intriguing approach to a green backed by a huge dune. — T.D.
