People will tell you that Prospector’s 10th is gimmicky, that the landing area isn’t wide enough and slopes too much left to right, or that it doesn’t drain well enough in the spring. They’re wrong. Prospector’s 10th hole is nothing short of one of the most enjoyable par-4s in the state, a stunning beauty with an elevated tee shot that seems to hang in the air forever, backdropped by Cascade peaks, before dropping to the fairway (or, for big hitters, the green) below. It’s not particularly tough, either physically or mentally. It’s just straightforward grip-it-and-rip-it fun. — B.B.
