“My sister and I will travel at times together but we are also very cautious about how much time we will spend together,” Amber says. “We get along great but we are very competitive. She has given me tons of advice and I know her knowledge of professional golf will help make many things about touring easier and more fun.?We made an agreement that if I wanted or needed help then I could ask her rather than her telling me all the time.”
Considering that her father and three of her uncles are teaching pros, it’s understandable that talking about the game might get a bit tired.
“Golf is in my blood and it has been from the day I was born.?I do think it was my destiny whether I wanted it to be or not.?Thankfully, I did develop my own love for the game.”
That passion translated into a distinguished career with the Huskies, where she was a two-time All-Pac-10 honorable mention selection. She also earned second-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors as a senior.
“The best memory of my college career was either going to Nationals my freshman year or my first round at the West Regionals my junior year at Washington National.?That day I came to the 18th hole?and made a great par save in front of all my teammates, athletic staff, and friends to shoot 69.?As a team we played awesome and it was a great moment for me.”
If you can keep up with her, Prange seems like a fun person to be around. She’s an avid skier, sports fan and concert-goer, and she says she’d like to pick up Latin dancing and sky-diving. This zest for life and her natural charisma can only help her cross over into the endorsement world, assuming she finds success on the golf course first.
“I know I would be able to spread brand awareness and image awareness for anything I represented, wore, or used. I get a thrill out of live television and talking with people. If I didn’t play golf for a living then I would have loved to have gotten into marketing or sales. Plus, I’d be able to take clients out on the course and actually know what I am doing.”
