Golf Boys “2.Oh”

Just when you thought it was safe to step back on the first tee …

They’re baaaaaaaack.
Barely a year after rocking the golf world with their first video, “Oh Oh Oh,” the Golf Boys — Ben Crane, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan — released Golf Boys “2.Oh”last week.
We’re not sure if it has the chart-topping power of  “Oh Oh Oh,” which first introduced us to Bubba’s bare-chested overalls, Mahan’s flowing lion’s mane (since shorn!), Fowler’s leathered-up rap styles, and of course, Ben Crane’s motorcycle helmet and pink socks, but it’s a dazzling delight, with more awkward cravats, fake beards and PGA Tour name-dropping than any golf rap video ever made. For fun, try to count how many PGA pros you hear mentioned — we count 15.
And while each of the videos were made to raise awareness and money for a charitable cause — this year’s is charity:water, an organization devoted to providing clean water to residents of developing countries — they’re anything but a bargain-basement product. From the opening shot of a flaming golf ball, to dramatic night-lighting, a tricked-out golf cart, exploding golf balls, on-location beach shots and more, “2.Oh” takes the Golf Boys to the next level, finally answering the question … “If a reigning Masters champion rapped bare-chested while wearing a bonnet and holding a baby bottle, what would it look like?”
Lastly, to those who would say that tongue-in-cheek music videos for charity have no place in the golf world, the Golf Boys have 14.3 million answers — as in, the combined earnings of Watson, Mahan, Fowler and Crane since the “Oh Oh Oh” first went viral last January.
That includes four total wins and, of course, one green jacket. Clearly, when it comes to golf, the Golf Boys can have their cake (or, in this case, as Bubba raps, “hot wings from ‘Stuart’ Applebees”), and eat it, too.
