I have played Bear Mountain Ranch 4 times since it opened. I love the scenery and the layout of the course. The greens had been extremely slow the first two years but the last time I played there they had sped up considerably.
I started figuring out why the course is so tough to score. In my opinion the number of elevated greens have made it tougher than it might have been.
I still love looking at the fairways from the tee. It definately gets your blood pumping.

Played here last year when it re-opened for the season and loved it. So early the greens hadn’t even been cut since last season, but what a great place for a golf course. The views are spectacular and the holes are challenging.
Playing it again this week, as it was delayed opening due to our great weather lately. :0)

I played Bear Mountain for the first time this weekend and all the reviews are dead-on. This is an incredibly beautiful course carved out of the side of the mountain, the fairways are long and wide, greens almost always elevated and challenging.
I hit my furthest drive yet, 340 on the long par 5 14th. What an amazing course, 5 stars all the way!
Played Bear Mt 4 times last year. Great staff, awesome views and challenging holes with lots of elevation change..Would recomend it to everyone..very enjoyable experience…I will be back.

6/12/10 The greens are fast depending on what side you’re are coming in from. I’m not familar with that type of grass on the greens, putting or chipping against the grass blades the ball will check up, going with the grass blades no luck stopping the ball. They could have had more water on the greens so you could hold them, but all in all I will play it again.
