Puetz Golf Price $449.99
One of the two major IST-technology drivers launched at the PGA show, Callaway’s iMix is available with the company’s latest MOI club heads, the FT-i and FT-5, and includes more than 1,600 shafts from three major manufacturers. In addition to the standard advantages of IST technology — increased ability to customize for swing, weather and course conditions — Callaway’s iMix also includes the company’s patented Opti-Fit Weighting System, which allows golfers to adjust their club’s center of gravity to match their particular swing style (draw, fade, etc.). And while slightly trickier than the 4DX Evolver — in addition to removing a screw on the iMix, one must use a special iMix wrench to adjust the nut that holds the two pieces together — changing shafts takes barely two minutes, and with practice, can be completed in under 30 seconds. With the extra shaft options and Opti-Fit technology comes a bit steeper price than the Nickent. Prices start at $449.95 and go up from there as shaft and head selections vary — but the added flexibility to customize can’t be oversold.
