Residents at The Fariview in Mukilteo enjoy afternoons on the private lanai (above) overlooking the first tee at Harbour Pointe.

That was the feeling of a recent visitor to The Fairview, the new condominium community that was completed in September just a chip shot from the first tee at Harbour Pointe in the fast-growing town of Mukilteo. Walking into one of The Fairview’s stunning homes, with their 10-foot or vaulted ceilings, granite countertops, fireplaces, private decks and imaginative floor plans, it’s all one can do to not kick off their shoes, put their feet up on the couch and call it a day. If you do that, though, you’ll miss out on all of the other amenities The Fairview has to offer — the dramatic views of Puget Sound or the Harbour Pointe Golf Club from your oversized private deck, the outdoor lanai with its built-in barbeque and deck chairs or the fully equipped fitness room. Of course, readers of this magazine are probably more interested in the easy access to Harbour Pointe, whose first tee is all of 30 feet from the aforementioned lanai, and the clubhouse just across the parking lot next door. Community sales manager Stephanie Pirie, though, says that while having one of the Northwest’s top public tracks in your backyard is a big plus for some, The Fairview stands on its own for the vast majority of interested buyers. “We’ve had some people who have come by here because of our proximity to the golf course, but once they’re here, they’re blown away by the quality of the homes and the beauty of the building and the area,” she says. “The golf really becomes an added bonus for them.” Depending on which of the 13 floor plans you choose, which range from one bedroom plus den to three bedrooms plus den, there are plenty of other added bonuses as well. Each includes all-new GE appliances and fireplaces that, in many cases, can be accessed from multiple rooms, or from the deck as well as the living room. Prices vary from the mid-300s for the smaller homes all the way up into seven figures for the luxury penthouses and their breathtaking views of the Sound and islands beyond. At every price range, however, what is perhaps most noticeable right away is how bright everything is, even on the lowest levels — that’s because The Fairview’s lodge-style design and large, energy-efficient windows were planned with natural lighting in mind, combining with the open floor plans and high ceiling and doorways to create a sense of openness that is a rare and surprising pleasure in a condominium community. It’s like life imitating art, imitating life. Or, to put another way, the way the Fairview blends high-end luxury, with affordability and a connection to — and concern for — nature, is quintessentially Northwest.
