2008 BMW Northwest Skins Game

The Classic Golf Club An event so nice, we’ll do it twice. That’s the thinking behind the 2008 BMW Northwest Skins Game, which will take place in part at The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway the weekend of Sept. 12-13. Tournament host and PGA Tour star Ryan Moore, a Puyallup native who calls The Classic home, will be joined by fellow touring pros and 2008 Skins Game participants Aaron Baddeley and Bubba Watson, with a fourth expected to be announced soon. Last year, Moore, Baddeley, Watson and fellow local product Michael Putnam combined to raise over $110,000 for Northwest charities, including Operation Holiday Hope, the Chambers Creek Foundation, the Evans Scholars Foundation, the Tacoma Emergency Food Network and Need-A-Break Services. Tournament director Mike Moore says that the Ryan Moore Foundation, which distributes the proceeds from the event, has received hundreds of requests from charities wanting to be a part of this year’s Skins Game, and that the Foundation hopes to significantly increase the total amount raised in 2008. Just like last year, the event will be held over two days, including a pro-am and youth clinic at The Classic on Friday, followed by the 18-hole Skins Game on Saturday at a course to be determined. Last year’s event was held at Chambers Bay. Tickets are limited, and can be purchased by calling The Classic at (253) 847-4440.
