*PUETZ GOLF PRICE $139.95
It’s right there in the name — 3.5, as in, three and a half pounds. Sun Mountain’s latest offering to the golf world is not the lightest bag there is … that would be Sun Mountain’s Superlight 2.5. But at less than the weight of a 14-week-old kitten, I don’t think you’ll have anything to complain about. Just as they did with the ClubGlider travel bag we reviewed in June, Sun Mountain has again proven to be ahead of the curve when it comes to product design, going beyond the standard features to truly set their product apart. For starters, the Superlight (and Sun Mountain’s cart bag version, the SCB Deluxe) is one inch shorter than most bags, to account for the shorter shafts on most women’s clubs. In addition, the bag boasts a sculpted hip pad for greater comfort when being worn over the shoulders, their patented Roller Bottom for even easier transport on hard surfaces and triangular non-slip foot pads to prevent the bag from sinking into wet grass or mud. Of course, all the standards are there, too – water-bottle pouch, fleece-lined valuables pocket, full-length clothing pocket, multiple accessory pockets … the works. And true to the Sun Mountain way, they’re not just following the industry standards when it comes to color, either – we opted to show off the green-and-brown combo here, but it’s also available in pink/black, pink/red and blue/brown. It’s a great buy for the golfer who prides herself on being ahead of the trends – and in the Northwest, don’t we all?
